Another user was bemused by Sam arriving in an Uber, tweeting, "Sam Perry, winner of The Voice Australia 2018, rolls up to the venue in an Uber."
Sam has been dubbed the most controversial artist to win The Voice yet, due to his use of a looping station in his performances.
The setup allowed him to digitally "loop" his voice, resulting in some harsh criticism from Boy George and fans of The Voice.
Sam spoke to E! News about the controversy last year:
"I came here to loop, but I come from a musical theatre background and I've done a lot of singing in my life. After Boy George's comments ['You're not really a singer'], we did 'Like A Prayer' by Madonna. I had the looping station in front of me, but I didn't actually use it. I sang that song just like everybody else sang that night. And I woke up the next morning and there were still keyboard warriors saying, 'Take the looping station away from him.' So Kelly and I sat back a bit and were like, we're going back to looping. They're going to say stuff anyway."
In the interview, Sam also said that his coach, Kelly Rowland would "introduce him to some people."
Along with winning $100 000 and a recording contract with Universal Music, the Australian artist seemed destined for success.
However, his words at The Voice grand finale on Sunday suggested otherwise.
