The Voice contestant Crissy Ashcroft allegedly lied on the show
She’s The Voice contestant who tugged at the heart strings of viewers when she auditioned in full army uniform on 2016 season of the talent show, but now some shocking allegations are being made against her.
While Crissy Ashcroft revealed she had been left with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) after being deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 on the show, former colleagues have suggested she was not telling the truth as she was in fact working as a finance clerk.
Speaking to nine.com.au, the singer’s former colleague, and an officer within the Special Operations Task Group, who served with Crissy in Afghanistan, told the news site that Crissy never saw combat.
“'It's absolute garbage because female service people do not fight outside the wire, especially in operational systems like that,' an officer said.
"I know intimately what her roles and responsibilities were. Finance clerk, that's it. She would sit in the pay office and she would process people's forms and enter that stuff into Microsoft excel."
A friend of Crissy named Kay Danes has come to the singer’s defence by telling Nine, “She never claimed that she was blown up. She hurt her shoulder. I believe she was getting out of a vehicle.”
“She has never claimed that she got PTSD from battle-related activity,” said Kay.
