The Weeknd has had a major hair transformation.
The 26-year-old singer, born Abel Tesfaye, debuted the new 'do by dropping a teaser for his latest album.
The Grammy-award winning artist deleted all the images on his Instagram account, before sharing the cover art for his third studio album, STARBOY, featuring his dramatically shorter hair.
A second photo showing off the cropped do, without his signature dreadlocks, is captioned, “i come alive in the fall time.”
The artist uploaded a third shot with the caption, "r.i.p. "@abelxo"".
The Weeknd told Rolling Stones last year that his hair was something he wanted to be remembered by.
“I want to be remembered as iconic and different,” he told the publication.
“So I was like, ‘F*** it, I’m gonna let my hair just be what it wants.’ I’ll probably cut it if it starts interfering with my sight. I can kind of see it right now," he admitted.
"But if I cut it, I’d look like everyone else. And that’s just so boring to me.”
