Viewers watching This Time Next Year will witness people from across Australia go through life-changing experiences, from finding love to doing the seemingly impossible.
“We have a whole new group of contributors as diverse as a 101-year-old woman who wants to learn to fly, a wheelchair-bound mum who dreams of running in the backyard with her five-year-old son, and a woman who wants to medically transition to being a man,” Karl explained.

The former co-host of the Today Show admitted that working on the show had been an emotional experience.
In the trailer, Karl can be seen shedding tears after speaking to a woman who feared she would never walk again.
“This Time Next Year is an absolute joy to work on, and I’m not going to lie, I shed a tear or two," he said.
Karl was dismissed from the Today show last year after facing negative backlash on a number of issues.
The 44-year-old recently opened up about his tough year on Steve Price's new 2GB show, admitting: "You just got to plough on."
After taking some time off, the Channel Nine star is back with a vengeance, with This Time Next Year airing in August.
