During her pregnancy, Tiffiny, 34, became very sick and had to stop training. What was that like for the TIFFXO fitness program founder? “I gained 30 kilos during my pregnancy, and mentally it was a struggle not being able to train,” Hall admits. “Then, when I had Arnold I slowly got back into training and I broke my ankle and then I broke my coccyx.”
It was just one hit after another for the trainer. She looked on Instagram at all the perfect pictures of women and their post- partum bodies and she just couldn’t relate.
“I looked in the mirror – and I was one of the fittest women in Australia – and my body was wrecked,” she says. “My core was wrecked, my pelvic floor... I didn’t recognise myself.”
But during her pregnancy, Hall was inundated with messages from people asking her how they can get their body back after having a baby. She knew she had to send
a message to her members via Instagram.
“I stood in front of the mirror in my underwear with my newborn son and I showed my husband and he said, ‘You look incredible. You have just given me a son.’ And it makes me a bit teary because at that moment I’d never felt uglier, more unfit, more weak, more emotional and, you know, all these feelings, and for him to say that...”
She says it took a good year to get on top of things. But she also concedes juggling work and motherhood can still be challenging at times. “I’m very lucky I have a great support network and we just make it happen.”
Hall is adamant she loves being a mum. “Arnie’s beautiful and I love him, and as much as it was a fight to get fit again and it was a fight back from a sick pregnancy, he’s all worth it. I’d do it a thousand times over.”
