"Initially, I guess Anna had never had a boyfriend so she had never been in a relationship where you have that kind of level of communication,” Tim, 35, tells WHO.
The two have learned to support one another, both professionally and personally.
“As partners, I think we’re full of communication and our love for one another has grown to a very different level,” he says. “We’ve grown together; we’ve matured together and hopefully we’re a bit wiser as a couple. Over time, love grows into more of a deeper respect for each other and understanding and honouring each other’s own aspirations and ideas,” he says.
A recent leap of faith saw Tim make a move into acting with a guest role in Neighbours, which saw him move interstate to focus on his new venture.
“I’m now in a relationship where we support each other so much and to have someone that if I need to move to Melbourne for a couple of months, we’ll make it work. Because we both want to see each other achieve our goals and dreams and we can still do that together but it means sometimes you might have to be apart for a little bit and you make it work.”
Distance aside, the chiropractor credits the success of his relationship with his wife to keeping things fun between the two.
“It’s that real balance of support and a challenge. Sometimes we’ll challenge each other—she’s a lawyer, she’ll challenge me! But we always have each other’s backs.”
First comes love then comes the baby?
“Not anytime soon!” Robards tells WHO. “It’s hard because we both want kids, but I think we just want to enjoy our marriage for a little longer!"
