“We all need a big, scary goal that pushes us to improve,” says Pitt, who is one of WHO magazine’s Most Intriguing People for 2016.
This year, her goals included two triathlons: the Ironman Australia and Hawaii’s Ironman World Championships.
In between the two, Pitt, who suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body in a bushfire during an ultramarathon in 2011, walked the 96km Kokoda Track for charity.
“Each time we achieve a big goal, one that forces us out of our comfort zone, the more confidence and self-belief we get in return,” she tells WHO.
Next on her bucket list? A trek to Mount Everest in 2017. “I love adventures—free diving, surfing, hiking,” says the 29 year old, who is engaged to long-time partner Michael Hoskin. “Challenging myself.”
