You might not think a biopic about former US vice president Dick Cheney (Christian Bale) would be as enjoyable as Vice is, especially in Australia, where he is not exactly a popular figure thanks to his role in the war on terror. But you'd be wrong.
Not only is the latest film from The Big Short director Adam McKay a fascinating insight into how one man redefined the power of the 2IC office, but it also comes with a healthy dose of the humour McKay has shown in other projects, such as the Anchorman films, and takes a delightfully unconventional approach to telling its story. Watch the trailer above.
Amy Adams co-stars as Cheney's wife, Lynne, who was instrumental in pushing her husband to turn his life around in the early days and who became a power player herself. With Bale, Adams, Rockwell, McKay and the film itself up for Golden Globe Awards, it is definitely worth checking out what all the fuss is about. 4.5 stars
