What is She-Hulk: Attorney at Law about?
The new series will follow Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who begins to specialise in cases concerning superhumans once she becomes She-Hulk.
Jennifer Walters first appeared in the Marvel Comics in 1980, and across her 42 years as a character, has been part of The Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Heroes for Hire and S.H.I.E.L.D.
Jennifer is the cousin of The Hulk himself, Bruce Banner. She gained her powers when he donated his own blood to save her life when she was shot by her first villain, crime boss Nicholas Trask.
We’re not too sure how much of this backstory will make it into the series, though, given it focuses mostly on Jennifer’s life as a single attorney in her 30s, who desperately does not want her powers.
Who will star in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law?
Acting superstar Tatiana Maslany will be taking the role of Jennifer, and who better to trust with such an epic role? She proved her acting chops years ago when she starred in Orphan Black, the sci-fi thriller that had her play no less than six different women, all clones of each other with vastly different lives.
Tatiana will be joined by Mark Ruffalo, who will reprise his role as Bruce Banner in the series.
The pair spoke extensively on their experience of working together to bring the characters to life, reflecting that they didn’t necessarily feel like ‘cool’ characters.
“They do kind of feel like they don’t fit in the world,” Tatiana told PEOPLE.
“We're sort of in these little gray suits with a camera in front of our faces. And there's something that informs the character through that we're not in like, super cool super-suits.
“We don’t feel cool. So, there’s something about that feels okay to me,” she said.
The dynamic duo will also be joined by Jameela Jamil, who is best known for her work in The Good Place.
Jameela is starring as Titania, a social media influencer who is obsessed with She-Hulk, but will also be the series’ villain.
“It’s nice to just come straight out of the gate as a bad person,” Jameela joked at Comic-Con.
“You’ll see that she embodies the antithesis of everything that I stand for.
“She’s just such a d---. It’s really fun,” she laughed.
Where can I watch She-Hulk: Attorney at Law?
As we mentioned, the new series will be dropping exclusively on Disney Plus, which is also where you can find WandaVision and Ms. Marvel.
The series will drop weekly from August 17, 2022. And while there’s been no mention of further seasons just yet, we’re keeping our fingers crossed!
