An English version of Call My Agent is headed for our screens

Ten Percent drops in April! - by Erin Christie
  • 01 Apr 2022

While cross-cultural adaptations of shows can sometimes be a bit of a challenge to take on, it seems Amazon Prime have pulled off something great in their new series, Ten Percent.

The British dramedy is an English-language remake of the hit French show, Call My Agent!, which is beloved internationally, despite its all-French script.

The series, which has been running for four seasons, will soon drop both a feature-length episode and a fifth season on its streaming home, Netflix.

While the source material is widely liked for a reason, we’re keen to see Amazon Prime’s take on it, which we assume will be full of the dry, British humour we love so much.

What is Ten Percent about?

Ten Percent stars Jack Davenport, of Smash! and Morning Wars fame, as Jonathan, the embattled head of a British talent agency that’s trying to cope financially while also keeping its clientele happy.

From what we can see in the trailer, it appears that his American counterparts will be sending in their own agent to lend a hand in boosting their profits (Emily in Paris, anyone?).

Davenport is joined in the cast by Gentleman Jack’s Lydia Leonard, as well as Maggie Steed, Prasanna Puwanarajah and many more, but it’s the cameos that the audience will be most excited for.

Since the lead characters work in an agency for the film and television industry, they’re constantly dealing with actors and actresses who will be playing exaggerated versions of themselves, just as in the French original. We’re thinking Entourage, but less problematic.

Lydia Leonard, Maggie Steed and Prasanna Puwanarajah also star on the show.

Who can we expect to see?

From the trailer alone, we’ve already spotted Helena Bonham Carter who seems to have been offered the same role as Olivia Williams, Dominic West as a ‘favourite client’, Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor, and The Crown’s Emma Corrin.

There’s also a hilarious reference to Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who we hope to spot when the series drops.
