“This is getting a little silly now,” she wrote over a black screen on her Instagram Stories.
“No, Will Poulter and I are not dating. We went to the beach with our friends, who are always about half a metre away from us in every picture, but have been clearly cut out/framed out so that it looks otherwise.”
She pointed out that one of her other male friend’s arms is visible in half of the paparazzi snaps and added that while she understands being a movie star means losing some privacy, “to fabricate stuff like this actually does more damage than good”.
Flo also appeared to defend her relationship with Zach, and not for the first time either.
“There’s no need to drag people through this. Regardless of your opinion on who I should or shouldn’t be with, at the end of the day if you’re complimenting someone by trolling another person… you’re just bullying,” she wrote.
“There’s literally no need to be horrible online – no need. Think about what you write. Think about who it affects.”
This isn’t the first time Flo has had to defend her love life and who she chooses to date, and unfortunately we have a feeling it won’t be the last either.
Keep scrolling for all the details of her romantic history, including the reason she cops so much flack for her romance with Zach Braff.
“Hey, why did you skip straight to the end?” you may be asking, but we actually haven’t.
Since making it big in 2016 with her role in the independent drama Lady Macbeth, Florence’s only high-profile relationship has been with former Scrubs icon Zach Braff.
The couple first met in 2019 when he directed a younger Flo in the short film In the Time it Takes to Get There and sparks flew.
The pair were first publicly linked in April that year when they were spotted strolling through New York City hand in hand, but they kept tight-lipped about it.
Well, as tight-lipped as you can be while also dropping cheeky hints on each other’s Instagram profiles for a couple of months.
After inspiring plenty of dating rumours, Zach and Flo finally went public in December 2019 and immediately faced controversy over their not insignificant age gap.
At the time Zach was 44 and Florence was just 23, leaving a whopping 21-year gap between them and fans were quick to question Zach’s motives.
But Flo defended her man, telling Elle UK in June 2020: “I have the right to hang out and be with and go out with anyone I want to.
“I know that part of being in the spotlight is that people might invade your privacy and have opinions on it, but it’s bizarre that normal folk are allowed to display such hate and opinions on a part of my life that I’m not putting out there.”
She and Zach have chosen to keep their relationship relatively private in the years since, even going so far as to attend premieres and other Hollywood events separately.
They adopted a dog together in April 2020, around one year after they were first linked romantically and the couple have been quietly doing life together ever since.
So do we hear wedding bells in the future? There hasn’t been talk of an engagement yet but with the way things are going for the pair it wouldn’t surprise us.
