While she knew that the series was ending, Schilling says she struggled to make it through filming without crying.
“I thought that I had kind of moved through it. It was no surprise. I knew the thing was ending. I knew the date I was wrapping for, like, six months, but it was a very moving thing, to be amongst these people that I’ve known for so long and to know it was the last time I’d be on that set. It almost makes me want to cry right now and it just happened," the actress told UsMagazine.
In October last year, series creator Jenji Kohan announced the cancellation of the Lionsgate-produced series on social media.
“After seven seasons, it’s time to be released from prison," he said. “I will miss all the badass ladies of Litchfield and the incredible crew we’ve worked with. My heart is orange but fade to black.”
