If you work in an office you'll probably understand the struggle of aircon drying out your skin, but it can also have adverse affects on your hair.
According to Michael, "heating can add unnecessary pressure to hair and also so can the erratic changes in temperature if you're going from hot to cold to hot to cold."
Michael's last hot tip is to not forget the importance of proper scalp care, "it is literally the root of all your hair issues", he says. "Purity to your scalp will always lead to healthy hair and a healthy amount of oil production. We know from skin care that oils are good for the skin and the same is for your scalp."
If you're looking for a fun hack to try introducing to your hair routine, MONDAY Haircare founder, Jaimee Lupton, says "blasting your hair with cold water after conditioner will help seal the hair cuticle and give you a nice shine, but if you can’t bear it on a chilly winter morning, try keeping your conditioner in the fridge instead!"

The best haircare products to try this winter 2023
O&M Hydrate & Conquer shampoo, $39.95, a-beauty
"Anything that is too heavy in harsh cleansing agents such as sulphates will lead to your scalp feeling tighter and your ends feeling dehydrated. The best thing you can do is use a sulphate free no tox haircare range such as Original Minerals Hydrate & Conquer", recommends Michael.
Nutritive Fibre food hair serum, $91, Kerastase
If you find your ends feel dry and brittle come winter, investing in a high quality serum that will revive your tips and bring them back to life is a worthy purchase. This spit ends serum from Kerastase will help to lock in moisture and replenish your locks, leaving them nourished and shiny.

MONDAY Haircare Moisture conditioner, $11.50, ASOS
Jaimee Lupton of MONDAY Haircare suggests "not using conditioner is a big [winter hair mistake]. People will often skip it if they have fine hair or oily hair and roots, however it’s really important for nourishing the rest of your hair and protecting from breakage. If this is you, give your roots an extra wash, and just focus your conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends. Alternatively, you can try using your conditioner before your shampoo to keep your hair from being weighed down."
