Posting to popular parenting site, Netmums, Annalise D revealed her friend has chosen a 'crazy' baby name.
Telling the site the bub had been named 'Abcde', to be pronounced 'Ab-si-dee', the fellow mum asked for opinions on the name.
She said, 'I've never heard of this name before - has anyone else?'
One mum wrote, 'It should be illegal to saddle children with names like that. Awful.'
Another added, 'That is the silliest name I've ever heard - but kudos for the imaginative pronunciation. Some parents are too cruel.'
Other comments ranged from 'OMG', 'Is that a joke?', 'Poor child' and 'That's just cruel.'
Surprisingly though - 328 girls in the US shared the name.
Vocativ reported that in 2014 there were 328 girls in the United States with the unusual name - with 32 babies being called Abcde in 2009 alone.
