April 2014: Gwen Joins The Voice
Gwen Stefani joined Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams as a judge on their hit reality show, The Voice. She was replacing Christina Aguilera, who was about to have her second child. This is when Blake and Gwen’s working relationship started.
Rumours of romantic tension began when they first appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Though they were both married (Gwen to Gavin Rossdale, and Blake to Miranda Lambert) the chemistry between them was so obvious.
Their lip sync of Endless Love was just to promote The Voice, but people couldn’t help but wonder if their relationship had gone from professional to personal!
November To December 2014: Just Friends?
Gwen’s first Instagram post featuring Blake has a caption that’s a little too sweet for ‘just co-workers’. Later photos of the two on The Voice show the two getting quite cozy.
July 2015: Blake And Miranda Split
Country fans were devastated when they heard that Blake and his wife Miranda Lambert got divorced. While they were together for a total of 10 years, they were allegedly cheating on each other and having relationship problems. Blake’s growing closeness to Gwen may have been the nail in the coffin for these two.
August 2015: Gwen Is Suddenly Single
Gwen had been married to Gavin Rossdale for 14 years, so it was an absolute shock when they got divorced only a month after Blake and Miranda. Despite the split, the two publicly stated that they were committed to being partners in raising their three sons – Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.
A Second Lip Sync Battle In October 2015
The Voice’s judges made an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. This second lip sync duet between the newly-single Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani only fueled the gossip about a secret relationship. The sparks that flew during that Hotline Bling number were a little too convincing!
November 2015: Dating Alert!
Though they continued to deny that they were seeing each other, the goss columns reported spotting them showing PDA around Hollywood. They are seen at several parties and a football game together until Blake’s reps finally confirm that the two are an official couple.
February 2016: Gwen Gets Interviewed About Blake
Gwen opens up to Ellen about how Blake became her boyfriend on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. While she was hesitant at first and said, “It would be a good idea not to talk about Blake,” the friendly host gradually gets Gwen to let her guard down and talk about how it was Blake who asked her to be a mentor on The Voice.
May 2016: Making Sweet Music Together
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani debut a duet, Go Ahead And Break My Heart, on The Voice. The song is part of Blake’s album ‘If I’m Honest’, and is the first collaboration between this real-life couple, now dubbed ‘Shefani’.
July 2016: Blake Credits Gwen With ‘Saving His Life’
In Billboard’s June 2016 issue, Blake talked about how Gwen helped him through his rocky divorce from Miranda. "She didn't tell me much, because we didn't know each other at the time, but she said, 'I'm going through something very similar to what you're going through. I understand. And I hate it.”
Blake soon went from leaning on a friend to falling in love. “Next thing I know, I wake up and she's all I care about and I'm wondering if she feels the same about me,” he revealed.
December 2017: Holiday Spirit
Blake and Gwen performed another duet in time for the holidays, You Make It Feel Like Christmas. They wrote the song on The Voice, and it’s clearly about their relationship, with lyrics like ‘I never thought I'd find a love like this. But I found forever in that very first kiss.”
April 2018: Rumours Of Tying The Knot
On another guest appearance on Ellen, Gwen is asked about the possibility that she and Blake will get married soon. While she was coy about any future plans, she did say that she ‘thinks about marriage all the time’.
June-July 2018: Supporting Each Other’s Careers
Gwen was set to start a Las Vegas residency in July, and Blake gave his girlfriend a shoutout on Twitter. "Setting (sic) here watching @gwenstefani rehearsals it continues to shock me the amount of GIANT hits this girl has written … I highly recommend ya'll catch her Vegas show if you can get tickets!!!" He continued to promote her show until its end in March 2019.
June 2019: Celebrating Four Years Together
The pair will be celebrating their fourth anniversary as a couple in November 2019, and to Blake, it still feels like they just got together. “Four years isn't forever, but man, it seems like it just happened in no time," he said to People magazine. That sounds like true love to us!
