Now Chezzi has broken her silence during an interview today on Sydney's 2Day FM, confessing; ‘The things that he did and the things that I saw were really horrific.
‘I had to receive quite extensive counselling afterwards because he honestly believed he would never walk again and we had no real outside help. When we brought him home from hospital, I’m not a nurse, I didn’t know what I was doing.
‘Some of the things that we went through would test any relationship.’
Responding to Chezzi’s revelations, an emotional Grant revealed he is still dealing with the consequences of what they went through, including memories of things he said while under the influence, and during the wrenching cold turkey process.
‘I said things that I had no control over and I’m still humiliated and so mortified that I said them in those times of weaning myself off that medication,' he saids. 'I’m so forever sorry for it.’
When asked why she stayed with him, despite being a relatively new couple at the time, Chezzi simply responded, ‘I knew that I loved him.’.
