The long-awaited second season will pick back up after the events of that tumultuous finale in 2020, when Emily (Lily Collins) finally hooked up with everyone's favourite philandering chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) - only to find out he would be staying in Paris and likely staying with his girlfriend, the enchanting Camille (Camille Razzat). Yikes.

Meanwhile, Emily had finally won over her boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) by pulling off an expert marketing moment for Savoir. The friendship between Emily and Sylvie is unlikely to last, since the tense relationship between the two is a key point of the plot (and we can't get enough of Sylvie's derision for her new protégée) but it was fun while it lasted!

In the second season, many fan-favourites will return to their roles, while a fresh face brings new romance to Emily's love life. Scroll through to meet the cast of Emily In Paris Season 2.

Lily Collins Emily Cooper
Netflix

Emily Cooper (Lily Collins)

Having appeared in hit films like Love Rosie, The Blind Side and Mirror Mirror over the years of her career, Lily was an obvious choice to play the doe-eyed Emily. Turns out she was a perfect fit for Darren Star's latest hit TV show, making us fall for Emily Cooper even when she was being, well, Emily Cooper.

What can we say about dear Emily? Bucket hat enthusiast, sneaky-link icon, fashion daredevil, unrealistic marketing maven. She’s all of these things and more. And we love her for it.

While Emily's romantic choices have often left us cringing - Maybe stop flirting with your friend's partner! Just a suggestion! - we can't help but root for our leading lady each time. In Season 2 her romance with Gabriel appears to come to a halt, while she pursues a new love interest, but her friendships appear to go from strength to strength.

Netflix

Gabriel (Lucas Bravo)

French actor Lucas won over a legion of fans when he joined the Netflix smash hit - taking his Instagram following to well over one million and landing him a whole bunch of new Hollywood gigs. Most recently, working in Australia alongside Julia Roberts and George Clooney on the upcoming film Ticket To Paradise. But, we digress.

Right now, his most important role is as the handsome rogue Gabriel. He was all set to leave Paris (and his relationship with Camille) behind and move to Normandy at the end of season two. At the last minute, he decided to stay in Paris thanks to Antoine (William Abadie) giving him financial backing to keep his restaurant open.

In Season 2, it looks like he'll be struggling with Antoine over the restaurant, from selecting a name to nailing down a menu. With the trailer pointing to a dramatic walk-out from his own restaurant, we can't wait to see what's in store for Gabriel in the new season!

Mindy (Ashley Park) in Emily In Paris
Netflix

Mindy (Ashley Park)

There’s a reason this character has become a fan-favourite. Having been a breakout star of the Broadway Musical adaptation of Mean Girls, Ashley brought her charm and epic singing voice to Emily In Paris as Mindy.

When Emily met Mindy, she was working as an au pair for a French family, though it was later revealed she was actually an incredible singer who ran away from her home in Shanghai after a "humiliating" stint on a reality TV singing competition.

Falling back in love with her creative side, Mindy asked her employers if she could have two nights off per week to MC at a local cabaret... and was promptly fired, moving in with Emily.

"I’m just so excited that Mindy has moved in with her. So, I can’t wait to hopefully see what madness ensues there," Lily told Deadline of the upcoming roommate's storyline in Season 2.

camille
Netflix

Camille (Camille Razzat)

With a name like this, how could they not pick Camille Razzat to play the charming girlfriend of Gabriel? A French actress and model, Camille - the real one - had appeared in films like Ami-Ami and The Accusation before nabbing the role in the Netflix series.

While it seems Camille and Emily are still besties in the new season, it's clear the love triangle between the ladies and Gabriel will come to a head in the latest episodes. Will she have a well-deserved meltdown? We hope so.
Alfie (Lucien Laviscount)
Netflix

Alfie (Lucien Laviscount)

What would a show about love triangles be, if they didn't take that triangle and transform it into an annoyingly confusing square? Yes, Gabriel better look out because Alfie is coming to town.

Meeting in a French language class, expat Alfie hits it off with Emily and is even seen canoodling with our girl in the trailer.

A British actor whose starred in Scream Queens, Snatch and competed on Celebrity Big Brother UK, Alfie will be bringing fresh energy to the show as a love interest for the main character. Juicy!

Sylvie
Netflix

Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu)

Back to the regulars! Although there's nothing quite regular about the head of Savoir, Sylvie. A French actress known for roles in Call My Agent, Two Brothers and Neuf Mois, the character of Sylvie introduced fans to the glamour of Philippine Leroy-Beulieu.

With enviable outfits and an air of sophistication to die for, Sylvie was a firm fan-favourite in the first season. What's coming in Season 2? Well, she looks just as annoyed by Emily as ever - though it seems she can still hand out good advice when needed.

"You've got the rest of your life to be as dull as you wish," Sylvie tells Emily in the trailer. "But, while you're here, fall in love."

Netflix

Antoine (William Abadie)

Fans could recognise William Abadie from a number of roles, including Roman on Gossip Girl, Alan in Homeland, or even Zed from the new And Just Like That reboot. But he'll always be the devilish Antoine in our books.

Yes, Sylvie's married boyfriend is still around. Having purchased the restaurant for Gabriel to stay in Paris, Antoine will be more involved than ever in the lives of our central characters. Oh, goodie.

mathieu
Netflix

Mathieu (Charles Martins)

Charles - a French-American actor - had just a handful of roles before appearing in Emily In Paris. But there's no denying he brought the sophisticated vibes to Emily's childish romance dramas as Mathieu.

Who could forget Mathieu? Perfect in every way, except for the fact that he's not Gabriel. And in Emily's books that basically means you're hot trash.

The handsome Mathieu - relative of Savoir client, Pierre Cadault - has been casually seeing Emily and invited her to travel with him to Saint-Tropez in the season finale.

In the new episodes, it's clear Emily will travel there with him, but will the romance last? Probably not if we're being honest. Which will make for some fascinating work encounters for Emily in the future, messy marketing queen that she is.

julien emily in paris
Netflix

Julien (Samuel Arnold)

A French actor with a flair for historic theatre, Samuel played Supernumeraries in National Theatre Live: Antony & Cleopatra before nabbing the role of Julien.

Julien is another Savoir co-worker, who toes the line between loving and loathing the American. But he's been a fun and lighthearted friend for our lead character to bond with, offering up hilarious one-liners throughout the first season.

Will he be completely on Team Emily in the new season? Doubtful. But we're excited just to be reunited with Julien.

Luc
Netflix

Luc (Bruno Gouery)

We may have met Luc in 2020, but Bruno Gouery has been a staple on French screens for more than a decade. He played Romaric Groslay in Doc Martin for four years and has appeared in TV shows including Double Je, President Alphonse and Cherif.

The best character of the entire series - no questions about it - Luc is an eccentric little weirdo who works with Emily and occasionally hands out helpful advice. We love him.

Returning in Season 2, Luc is sure to take Emily on more wacky adventures - seen in the trailer standing with her in a cemetery, where he shares this gem: "It's not easy to speak of feelings, but don't waste time with guilt."

Emily In Paris Season 2 will air on Netflix on December 22, 2021.
