Abbie Chatfield is set to be one of the key players on this year’s Bachelor in Paradise, but after one viewer shamed her for her cellulite, the reality star hit back in the best way possible.
Taking to Instagram Abbie, 25, uploaded three up-close photos of her body, proudly displaying the cellulite on her stomach, back of her legs and thighs.
“Saw a comment on a BIP promo wondering how anyone would want to kiss me with this much cellulite on my ass. Just wanted to let that person know isn’t just on my ass! Also on my stomach, back of my arms, front of my legs, calves, thighs…. normalise cellulite in areas we don’t usually see!” she wrote.
The influencer, who was the runner-up on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor, added: “Oh, and my cellulite has never stopped me from doing anything, not even being a sex-crazed reality TV villain.”
Abbie’s followers praised her in the comments section for her message of body positivity.
“In other words, what EVERY woman looks like without lighting, ridiculous posing and photoshop. Get it girl- honest, natural and beautiful,” one wrote.
“I’m sure the person who made that repulsive comment is totally free from cellulite or indeed any imperfections themselves. Seriously being a woman in the public eye is so depressing sometimes – it’s sad to see how little many people (usually men) still value women and how we continue to be viewed purely as objects to be critiqued to them. PSA: WOMEN DO NOT EXIST TO BE VISUALLY PLEASING TO YOU, MEN! Peace out,” another penned.
One even left a particularly thirsty comment remarking: “Ummm….does this even count as cellulite? I’d freaking never wear clothes if I looked like this.”
One of the most liked comments came from Abbie’s Bachelor in Paradise co-star who flirtatiously commented: “I think that person who made the comment is just jealous we got a smooch init.”
In a recent trailer, Abbie and Ciarran share a steamy kiss on a single date and the Bachelor star explains that she came to Paradise for Ciarran, who rose to fame on Angie Kent’s season of The Bachelorette last year.
“As the rest of Australia does, I have a bit of a crush on Ciarran,” Abbie says in the trailer. “He’s hot and he’s such a naughty boy. I think he’s great, he and I are really compatible.”
Abbie has already admitted that she’s nervous about how she’s going to be portrayed this season in the final edit, but told New Idea that she will be her same unfiltered, authentic self as she was on The Bachelor.
“I think when you’re on TV, you’re a one-dimensional character. And my character was overtly sexual and confident, and to a lot of people that equals b–ch,” she explained.
“But I already am worried about how the edits are going to go.”
