Ali Oetjen showed her physical and mental strength on SAS Australia but had to simultaneously deal with the end of her two year relationship with Bachelorette winner, Taite Radley. But don’t expect Ali to debut a new man anytime soon.

Speaking on Nova’s How To… Life podcast, the former Bachelorette, 34, admitted that dating is not on her radar for the time being as she’s still recovering from her break up with Taite.

“I still can’t think of dating again. Definitely not,” Ali admitted to hosts Claudia Coy, Jenna D’Apice and Nikolina Kharoufeh.

“It really actually scares me now. You think something’s it and then it doesn’t turn out to be what you were hoping or what you were thinking, even throughout the relationship. I’ve never had any relationship hurt so bad, so I guess it’s still healing.”

Ali also admitted that she and Taite have cut off contact between each other cold turkey, but it wasn’t as straightforward as it sounds.

“It’s really hard because it was evident at the start that we both really didn’t want to fully let go. So there was texting and phone calls and then the texting dropped off. And then I think I realised every time we would have a text, the next day I would just be in pieces.”

What’s more, Ali confessed that whilst journalling and meditation has helped, she engaged in some social media stalking that many will be able to relate to.

“You can’t help but not check their Instagram!” she laughed.

“I can definitely say that I have stopped checking his Instagram because I found that was a pattern as well that I just had to break.

“I know talking about it openly and honestly, so many people are going through the same thing.”

Speaking to Who after she voluntarily withdrew from SAS Australia, Ali said the split “is what it is”.

“We were both pursuing our own dreams and they just weren’t going in the same direction,” she said, remarking that she was ready for marriage and children.

“Life takes its course and that’s just the way it was. We didn’t align in what we both wanted. I wanted to chase my dreams and he wanted to chase his dreams and we couldn’t do it together, we decided. But in saying that, we loved each other so much when we broke up.”

The blonde beauty, who is one of the few Aussie stars to appear on The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, added that she will never look for love on a reality show, but is open to other TV ventures.

“Not anything to do with love or relationships. But anything to do with fitness, health and wellness and pushing my limits, hell yeah!”

Ali and Taite announced their split in July 2020 with emotional posts on their respective Instagram accounts.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we want to let everyone know that we have decided to take time apart in order to give each other space and time to fully focus on our own paths,” Ali captioned her post at the time.

“We both love each other deeply & only want the best for each other & both want the ultimate happiness for each other and hopefully our paths will reconnect again soon.”

She continued: “We’ve decided to be open with this so there’s no speculation and so we expect love, respect & kindness in return. I love you Taite.”

Taite shared the same post (with the names switched) with a different photo.
