The film is set to be directed by Tate Taylor, whose credits include, The Help and Girl on the Train and written by Amanda Idoko.

Janney, 58, will play a woman who secretly buries her husband after he dies of a heart attack when she catches him in bed with another woman. She quickly becomes a celebrity amid the search for her husband who is thought to be missing.

But, she has to try and keep the truth from her sister (Dern) who is desperate to uncover the real story.

Taylor, who previously worked with Janney in The Help, is looking forward to working with her again.

“The moment I read Amanda’s dark and brilliant script I knew it was the one for Allison,” she said in a statement.

“She and I have been searching since The Help for something big to do. So have Laura and I. It’s a perfect story of debauchery and chaos.”

Production of the film is set to begin in mid-2019 as Taylor is currently in production on action-thriller, Eve starring Jessica Chastain.
