Neighbours star April Rose Pengilly nearly snatched up the role of Cheryl Blossom!
Taking to Instagram, the Australian actress— who plays Chloe Brennan on the long-running soap— told her followers that she actually auditioned for the part on the hit teen Netflix series, Riverdale.
“I love it,” she said of the show, “but it hurts because I auditioned and wanted it so badly.”
Explaining why she missed out on playing the iconic red-head diva, Pengilly said her tone wasn’t in tune with what the series creator was after.
“I pitched the tone incorrectly because they told us it was like Gossip Girl when it turned out to be way darker,” she explained.
The latest episode of Riverdale sent fans into a frenzy when Archie Andrews, played by KJ Apa, was killed off!
