Angie Kent is no stranger to reality TV. She’s graced our screens on multiple occasions but the 31-year-old has revealed how she made the transition from her Gogglebox couch to the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here jungle with best pal, Yvie Jones.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday evening, Angie shared a still of herself and Yvie during one of their first I’m A Celeb pieces to camera.
“WAY back Whensday, when @yvie_jones and I left our tv watching days (for personal reasons) and went on one of the scariest shows we would have watched back on Gogglebox!” she captioned her post, before explaining how they were scouted for the show.
“We were in Bali on our last ‘family holiday’ (with our house mate Tommy) when we got the call from the Executive Producer of @imacelebrityau saying he heard we left Gogglebox and that they wanted us for the jungle in just over a month 🤯 to say we were s***ting our dacks was an understatement.”
The reality star added that the moment in the photograph was probably one of their very first interview pieces to camera, complete with “a full glam squad, lights, camera, action!”
“We were so used to just sitting on the couch in our comfort zone, with our fur babies and talking absolute dross with a team working around us. Then BOOM we were literally thrown in the jungle. Completely out of our safe haven of pooches and pillows,” Angie recalled.
“I remember being so incredibly nervous, sweaty and awkward. But I have come to realise that is when I’m at my best 😏 When I’m my purest most vulnerable most sweatiest self.
“Don’t clean up ya sweat for no one. You sweat all over the place sweeties 🍭 A broken crayon can draw just as colourfully as a whole crayon 🖍 remember that. x”
Though their season of I’m A Celeb was won by entertainment reporter Richard Reid, Angie and Yvie went on to have great success in reality TV.
Later that year, Angie found love on The Bachelorette with Carlin Sterritt and in 2020 briefly starred on Dancing With The Stars.

Speaking of her time on the reality dating show, Angie revealed that the process was an emotional one and that she cried almost every day by the end.
“I remember for the first half I was tired but I never cried because I was having so much fun and my producer was like ‘Why do you not cry?’ By the end they were like ‘You don’t have to cry!’” she previously told WHO.
“I was so vulnerable because I really wanted to find someone so I cried heaps. I don’t know how you can fake being in there – it’s so raw and emotional and all you do is talk about love. You’d have to be a psychopath or a really good actor to fake that and not really want it.”
