After keeping the secret for two years, Anya Taylor-Joy and her partner Malcolm McRae have finally announced that they are married!
The couple announced the happy news on the first of April and since the announcement, fans have been eager to learn more about their heartwarming romance.
Although the Mad Max: Furiosa star has made only a handful of comments on her romance, the couple have not shied away from sharing glimpses into their relationship on social media.

Who is Anya Taylor-Joy dating?
Anya Taylor-Joy is currently married to 30-year-old musician Malcolm McRae.
While the exact timeline of their early relationship is unknown, Anya first made mention of Malcolm in an April 2021 interview with Elle, telling the publication, “My partner’s just come back from work and he’s moving around all of his equipment.”
Three months later, the couple hard-launched their new romance on social media, with Malcolm sharing a portrait of Anya with the caption, “I’m besotted.”
Just over one year after Anya first confirmed their romance, the pair tied the knot on April 1, 2022, and kept the news of their wedding a secret until their second anniversary.
“Two years ago, on April Fools, I secretly married my best friend in New Orleans. The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being forever,” Anya wrote on Instagram.
“I love you now and somehow I always have and somehow it will never end. Happy two-year anniversary beautiful,” added Malcolm.
Speaking on the decision to keep their big day under wraps, Anya told Entertainment Tonight, “At the end of the day, it was just about the two of us, and so we ran away with our two best friends and had the most magical day possible.”
Following the announcement, the couple’s wedding cake suddenly took over headlines after Anya shared a snap of the pair devouring two anatomically correct heart-shaped cakes.
“I’ve never dreamed about a wedding, I only dreamed about those cakes. I’ve wanted them since I was five years old,” the actress told WHO on the Mad Max: Furiosa red carpet.
Who is Malcolm McRae?
Malcolm McRae is a 30-year-old musician and actor from Birmingham, Alabama.
Born on April 16, Malcolm also shares the same birthday as wife Anya Taylor-Joy, however, the couple were born two years apart.
Malcolm is a member of the musical duo more, and throughout his music career, he has penned a number of songs in tribute to Anya – revealing that he wrote his first song, Really Want to See You just two days after the couple’s first meeting.
Most recently, Malcolm starred as one of the bandmates of The Winters in Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & the Six and also took part in the musical production of the show.
