Cue the screaming!

It’s a bloody good day to be Jason Momoa!

Warner Bros. has officially announced that a follow up to the latest instalment in the DC Extended Universe will be released on Dec. 16, 2022.

Although we have a lot of time to kill before we can lay our eyes on the second instalment, WHO can confirm Momoa will return as underwater superhero Arthur Curry. Also expected to make comebacks are Amber Heard as Mera, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Willem Dafoe as Niudis Vulko and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus.

At this point in time, there’s no word as to whether James Wan will get back in the director’s chair! Last year, Wan— who was also behind the Conjuring franchise— told Deadline he wouldn’t sign on for a sequel unless the script was groundbreaking.

“I never set out to make sequels to any of my films I direct. If they happen, that’s great because that means people out there love it and they want more of it,” he said.

Despite his hesitation, he said if it does go ahead, he will oversee the project, and hand-select the writers who will help him pen the script.

The confirmation of a sequel comes after Aquaman dethroned The Dark Knight Rises and became the highest-grossing DC comic film in history, reeling in a cool $1.090 billion!
