Unlike most MAFS couples, Rachel and Steven felt very sweet and down to earth when they first appeared at the altar on their wedding day. Rachel, a 34-year-old woman tired of situationships, was paired with 25-year-old Steven, a marine technician looking for something grounded.
We crossed our fingers and watched on.
They had a few hiccups on their wedding day, especially when Steven had to be prompted by Rachel to give her a compliment on how she looked.
Despite that, the two still seemed fairly loved up and heading in the right direction.
After final vows on Tuesday night, April 7, Rachel and Steven ended the show by making it official with a wholesome “will you be my girlfriend?” request from Stevo.
But are the couple still together?

In the 2026 MAFS Final Vows, there was certainly a lot of drama, tears, and wholesome surprises that unfolded.
For Rachel and Steven, they took their growing connection to the next level by vowing to make it work outside the experiment.
However, whether this vow was honoured post-experiment is another question entirely. The pair certainly had their fair share of struggles on the show, and insider sources have confirmed that Rachel’s concerns about whether they could make a long-distance relationship work actually had some legs…
Intimacy struggle
The couple hit a bit of a roadblock early on when Steven struggled with the physical side of their relationship.
During Intimacy Week, Rachel was heartbroken when Steven refused to kiss her.
“My heart just dropped to the bottom of my stomach,’ she revealed to Daily Mail. “My ultimate fantasy was just ripped away from me, which was a simple kiss. That feeling of something more, just a bit of intimacy. So a kiss, essentially.”
She went on to say that before Initimacy Week started, the couple had discussed their boundaries, and for Steven’s sake – considering he’s one of the more shy and awkward MAFS grooms – Rachel decided to not propose any lingerie or raunchy requests.
“I thought what I did was really respectful and tame, as per his requests. I simply just wanted a kiss,” she added.
However, throughout the season the pair have engaged in honest communication and worked through their intimacy struggles, appearing a lot cosier in following episodes.
Are Rachel and Steven still together?
From what we can see, it seems as though Rachel and Steven have ended things.
An insider told Refinery29 Australia that the couple broke up shortly after the Final Vows.
“Rachel gave everything to that relationship and everyone saw Steven start to come around at the end,” the source said.
But the nail in the coffin for the relationship was apparently when Steven didn’t make any plans to visit Rachel once the Final Vows were done.
Steven has since been spotted at nightclubs with Joel Moses, seemingly living it up as a single man.
Meanwhile, it was reported by New Idea that Rachel was spotted looking cosy on a night out with Big Brother star Bruce Dunne.
