What Is A Babymoon?

A babymoon is like a honeymoon, but to celebrate the coming of a baby instead of a marriage. Since you’re not going to have much for yourself after the baby arrives, now is the time to be selfish!

The most common babymoon ideas are all about travel. You can’t really go on holidays with a newborn, so now would be the best time for you and your hubby to on that trip you always wanted.

Luckily, babymoon packages are starting to become common offerings with resorts and travel agencies. You don’t exactly need to go on a five-star vacation since some of these destinations work perfectly fine on a budget. But if you’re feeling fancy, (and why wouldn’t you?), then a bit luxury never hurt anyone!

Babymooning In Australia

The ideal destinations will obviously depend on how far along your pregnancy is, the best babymoon package for a woman at 16-weeks isn’t going to be the best for a woman at 32-weeks. So, with that in mind, here are our top five picks:

But Before Going On A Babymoon…

Before you book your tickets, remember to keep these things in mind on your babymoon trip:

  • How far are you in your pregnancy. Each trimester has its certain set of challenges that every woman needs to take into account. The bigger the bump, the more difficult it’ll be for you to move around, so remember that!
  • The local cuisine. It doesn’t matter how good the food is where you’re going if it’ll all come up shortly after you snack it down. Check (and inform the staff if necessary) about food that can trigger any reactions in you.
  • Any medications you may be taking. If you happen to be taking any medication for your pregnancy, make sure you bring extras or at least book a destination that’s close to where you can get more.

Remember: you may be going on a trip, but you have an extra companion with you! Consult with your doctor before going on any trip, so you’d have a better idea of things to watch out for.
