In the trailer, Bachelor Locky muses: “Being in love is the best feeling in the world, it takes your breath away.”

The Survivor contestant and adventure travel guide adds that though he’s been heartbroken before and “done a lot of crazy things” in his life, being the Bachelor is the craziest thing he’s ever done.

Fans were also treated to a first look at the ladies vying for Locky’s heart as they arrive at the Bachelor mansion, and as with every year there are some avant-garde entrances featuring drums, sparklers and samba dancing.

One particular contestant instantly catches Locky’s attention prompting her to tell her “Sorry I just got lost in your eyes, they’re beautiful.”

The brunette beauty, dressed in a long golden dress, swoons for the former Survivor star adding “Goodness me. You’re fairly good looking yourself.”

Other contestants include a blonde woman dressed in blue who deems Locky “amazing” as well as a nurse who flirtatiously checks the Bachelor’s heart rate.

But perhaps the most intriguing moment was when Locky declared that he is prepared to propose should he meet the woman of his dreams on the series.

“I’m here to find love. I would love to get down on one knee at the end,” adding “I’m the kind of guy that would do it.”

The last time an Australian Bachelor proposed was when Blake Garvey proposeed to Sam Frost in season two. Meanwhile, Sam Cochrane got down on one knee to Tara Pavlovic during the first Bachelor in Paradise finale and we all know how those ended up. Bring on that happy ending!

This year’s season is going to look remarkably different to previous ones due to the coronavirus lockdown and restrictions.

In a report by The Australian, Ten’s head of entertainment Stephen Tate revealed that the season premiere would kick off in August and that filming resumed once restrictions had eased.

“We were … three-quarters of the way through series when we went into lockdown, and basically all the cast returned home,” he said.

“So we would find ways for the show to continue in the same way that dating continues in the wider world … We call it love in lockdown. They continued to virtually date, both as single dates and as group dates.”

To make sure the cast and crew stay healthy, it was also revealed that temperature checks twice a day, daily QR code sign-in and out requirements and restricted access to certain areas were enforced on set as well.
