They were the much talked-about new couple from 2019’s season of Bachelor In Paradise after they were apparently caught kissing in Melbourne just days after filming the season finale.
But it seems the holiday romance has already come to an abrupt end, with Alex Nation and Bill Goldsmith calling it quits on their short-lived fling.
And according to our very well-placed source, the split has been anything but amicable – with both reality stars desperate to spill the tea on what really went wrong.
‘Things have turned nasty and Alex is certainly keen to tell her side of the story, but she is still under a gag order for the show so she can’t say a word,’ says the source. ‘And Bill doesn’t want to get all the blame here so he is ready to defend himself.’
Left heartbroken and embarrassed after she appeared on national TV looking for love for the second time, insiders say Alex was initially smitten after going on her first date in Fiji with the recently rejected plumber, who’d jetted into the tropical island after failing to find love with Ali Oetjen.
‘She is devastated,’ says the source. ‘After it didn’t work out with Richie, she got engaged to Meaghan and then they broke up and now this. It’s like she is cursed and its all been so public too.’
And while other reality contestants on the show apparently made it clear they were keen to get to know Alex and Bill, the pair only had eyes for each other – ruling out any other potential matches.
‘They were involved in two separate love triangles because they both had other admirers,’ says the source. ‘But they made a pact early on to stick together and while they did go on dates with others they always ended up together.’
And just weeks after declaring their love for one another in a dramatic ending the pair revealed their connection – breaking their contractual obligations by stepping out together publicity.
The unlucky-in-love single mum and the cheeky hunk were packing on the PDAs at their local dog park when they were apparently caught out by paparazzi.
‘They were not even supposed to be seeing each other because it spoils the show for fans,’ says a source. ‘They got into a lot of trouble and after all that it hasn’t even worked out anyway.’
