Heartbreak? Maybe not…
Rabid fans of Ten’s hit dating series The Bachelorette may have been shattered by Sam Frost’s rejection of good guy Richie Strahan last year, but he tells WHO it was a blessing in disguise.
“I was obviously a bit upset,” says Strahan, “because I’d built a great relationship with her. It would have been nice to be the guy at the end.” Was his heart broken? “I get asked that a lot,” he replies. “Was I in love? No.”
What a difference a year makes. Strahan is now back as star of The Bachelor, with 22 hopefuls vying to catch his eye when the series kicks off on July 27. Though a few friends told him not to bother, he decided to risk it all, anyway. And he sounds happy that he did.
“You don’t have bad dates on The Bachelor,” he insists. “I got to choose from a fantastic, diverse group of women.”
But did he find The One? “Define ‘The One,’” he shoots back. “Let’s just say I felt something on the first night. Richie’s happy.”
