The insanely strict eating regime the Bachelorette’s Elly swears by

If the warmer weather wasn’t enough to have you lean into healthier habits (less lounging, more lunging), just take a cue from Bachelorette, Elly Miles.

The 26-year-old – who, in a franchise first, is currently looking for love alongside her big sis, Becky – opened up about her weekly wellness routine in a recent interview with WHO.

And while we’re all for her approach to exercise (functional fitness training at attitude? Sign us up), it’s her food philosophy that’s intrigued us most.

“Food is such an important part of life – it literally gives you life,” she tells us. “It is so important to be able to have a healthy relationship with food and allow yourself to indulge from time to time.”

Elly is a huge fan of intermittent fasting. She has her first meal of the day after 12 pm and makes sure she wraps up dinner and dessert by 8 pm.

“I love it,” she says. “I find I am less lethargic, have better digestion and am not overeating.”

She adds: “There’s a lot of mixed opinions about intermittent fasting, but it fits easily into my lifestyle/routine and it works great for me!”

Although her eating window is on the smaller side, she packs a tonne of goodness into it. She kicks things off with rice paper rolls, a veggie bowl or banana and peanut butter on two slices of toast.

In the early arvo (think 2 or 3 pm), she’ll reach for a snack which is usually another banana or two rice cakes topped with tomato, avo and cheese.

Dinner is always Elly’s biggest meal. Her go-to’s are steak and veggies or salad, poke bowls or her healthy version of spaghetti bolognese.

Then, if she’s feeling it, she’ll have a piece of fruit or an Akins bar for dessert … The day on a plate of dreams, right? Her cheat meal of choice is equally as enticing: Spaghetti Marinara.

“I basically eat really clean throughout the week and if I want a treat on the weekend, that’s when I go for it,” she adds.

“Knowing that I am doing something really good for myself by maintaining that lifestyle makes me feel confident and happy.”

Even while working incredibly long hours on set, Elly made sure to she kept on top of this routine. 

“The schedule was also tricky with trying to work out as much as I usually do but we did our best!” she continued, adding that it’s important to make long-term lifestyle changes “not just stick to a fad for 6 or 8 weeks.”

“Consistency and balance will not only assist in maintaining your physical ‘results’ but will also have an amazing on your mental health and overall wellbeing,” she says. 

Whatever her methods, there’s no denying the girl looks good. Keep up the great work, Elly!
