Jayden Darcy and Aimee Woolley were among the only couples on Beauty And The Geek who didn’t end up in a romantic pairing, but they still locked lips on one challenge. Now, they’re spilling all.

During a fashion photoshoot challenge, Aimee gave him a cheeky kiss for the camera, something she didn’t think much of at the time.
But Jayden confesses to WHO that the unscripted moment left him absolutely reeling.

“I was just like, ‘oh, oh goodness. Amy, you don’t understand I’m a geek. I’m not used to confronting beauties like this!’,” he says.
“Talking to women is difficult, talking to drop dead gorgeous women seems impossible. And then they put me on a photoshoot with one less than 30 centimetres from my face. I must have had a heart attack.”
Aimee confirms the kiss was a “spur of the moment” thing and though their bond didn’t turn romantic, the exchange definitely helped build Jayden’s confidence around beautiful women.
It helped that Aimee was incredibly down-to-earth, the beauty admitting that she “put her foot in it” constantly during filming.
“There were heaps of those moments that I put my foot in it. I am so happy some of those moments did not make it to air. Thank you to the producers for that,” she giggles.
Meanwhile Jayden confirms that BATG stars have no say in how they’re edited in the final version of the show, so “if you say something, it’s out there”.
While they haven’t been surprised by any dodgy editing (yet!), both were shocked by different aspects of the experience when filming first began.
Aimee couldn’t believe just how many cameras are involved, explaining that there are “just constant people in your face”.
“Being on a TV show, it’s so different. All these emotions come up that you never knew that you had. It’s really real,” she adds.
Meanwhile, Jayden was apprehensive about the roommate situation and “didn’t know what to expect” when he and fellow geek Aaron had to share an apartment.

Fortunately they all got on and living together turned out to be fun, but it did make it harder to see other contestants eliminated.
“Whenever I saw two teams go up [for elimination] … I was thinking, ‘oh my God, two of my new best friends are going to go home and I can’t talk to them anymore’. It was heartbreaking,” Jayden says.
And he’s serious about not being allowed to talk to the eliminated contestants once they leave, though he can’t spill all the details.
“It’s difficult to say. Sometimes we might be able to talk to them a tiny bit, but most of the time not much because we can’t talk about the show, and we’re busy all day,” he reveals.
The cast are constantly running between challenges chased by huge camera crews, but both Jayden and Aimee miss the madness of filming.
“I feel like I’m made to be on camera. I’ve got such a nice response from people about me being on that TV show,” she laughs.
In fact, the only part of the whole experience that got her down was missing out on getting to see Jayden get a BATG makeover – “I think he would’ve looked smashing!”
Ironically, he was terrified of the makeovers when he first signed onto the show but after seeing the result of Mike and Christopher’s, Jayden was actually getting keen for his own.
“I was gutted. It would’ve been so interesting to see what they could’ve done with this mug,” he quips.
