It’s been almost a year since Bella Varelis parted ways with her Bachelor Locky Gilbert.
But on the one year anniversary of her reality TV journey beginning, the 2020 runner-up has shared an emotional insight into how everything kicked off and why at the end of the day she’s “unbelievably grateful”.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Monday night, the 26-year-old influencer shared a still from the moment she and Locky met at the Bachelor mansion, but her ex has been understandably cropped out.
“I remember sitting in the hotel room this day last year, journaling and trying to imagine what 2020 was going to bring, who the “bachelor” was going to be and how much I wish I had my phone so I could call Mum,” she confessed in her caption.
“I even remember wondering where I’d be in exactly a year…feeling nostalgic and so unbelievably grateful. I re-read my journal and burst into tears, life has such a funny way of reminding you to be present and realise how far you’ve come.”

Bella then shared a photo of her 2020 journal and whilst the majority of her entry is redacted, there was one significant line that she drew attention to.
“What am I looking for in a guy? Someone who is caring, loyal, ambitious, respectful and someone who is proud to call me his,” the journal extract reads.
“The last sentence I wrote,” the Bachelor star captioned the snap.

She may not have found that guy on The Bachelor but Bella is officially off the market and has found love with photographer and fellow influencer, Will Stokoe.
The brunette beauty went Instagram official with her new man after weeks of speculation in February when she shared a photo of herself and Will smiling together at a Byron Bay restaurant.
“Film moments with my special human,” she captioned the snap.
Bella also re-posted the picture to her Instagram Stories with the caption “Cat’s out of the bag… thought it was about time you all officially met.”

Meanwhile Locky and his Bachelor winner Irena Srbinovska had their own throwback experience this weekend when they reunited with former contestant Maddy Carver in Tasmania.
The trio caught up at the Tasmanian Wine Festival and the season eight winner gave her own insight into what life inside the mansion was like.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Irena uploaded a video of herself and Maddy dancing to Endor’s hit Pump It Up.
“Every time I have caught up with the Bach girls our song comes on!” she joked in the caption.
“We listened to Pump It Up before every cocktail party.”
