This season of Big Brother VIP is yet to disappoint, kicking off to a very spicy start this week with gossip coming from all corners of the house.
With the likes of Omarosa, Caitlyn Jenner, and Thomas Markle Jr. joining the cast, we would have been disappointed without some sort of discussion involving the Kardashians, Trump, and Meghan Markle, but the episodes so far have gone above and beyond.
Even more tantalising is the gossip emerging from behind the scenes, as the housemates take to both the media and their own social media to talk about their experiences.
Here’s some of the wild stuff we’ve learned this week, outside of the house.
Not all housemates got along
First to go (potentially), Omarosa Manigault Newman has already dished on the fellow housemates she took issue with, or who took issue with her.
It seems Caitlyn Jenner and Thomas Markle Jr, her fellow international stars, didn’t get along with Omarosa.
“I just read an article, she gave an interview … and said that her whole plan the whole time was to attack me on the show,” she claimed on Nova’s Smallzy.
“I was a little surprised by that because I was looking forward to getting to know Caitlyn, but instead I got to know Karen. She was just terrible, it was shocking.”
Omarosa also took issue with Thomas Markle Jr, defending his half-sister Meghan Markle after Thomas called her selfish, and claimed that money had gotten to her head.
“It’s really hard to listen to Thomas say all these terrible things about her when I’ve met her myself and then come to realise that he hasn’t actually spent much time with her, so how much do you trust what he’s saying?” she mused.
With Omarosa now – maybe – gone from the house, we’re interested to see who spills next.
What was everybody paid?
While this is mostly hearsay, there seems to be a lot of pay disparity between the housemates.
Drama unfolded earlier this year when it was discovered that former MAFS bride and current housemate, Jessika Power, was receiving $20k for her appearance on the show, while Martha Kalifatidis, who also starred on MAFS alongside Jess, received $30k for her appearance on Celebrity Apprentice.
Meanwhile, Caitlyn Jenner is allegedly receiving a sweet $500k for her appearance on Big Brother VIP, which makes sense when you compare her star power to some of the local celebs in there. She did comment on her personal relationship with Kanye West in episode one, so we’ll let her have it.
Do we know who wins?
Basically, no. However, there is speculation around the ladder leader on Sportsbet, which is none other than model and actress Ellie Gonsalves.
While it does just come down to odds, sites like these have been known to successfully predict winners on other shows like The Bachelorette and The Voice, so we’ll be watching closely to see if they can get it right this time around, too.
Ellie seems quite popular in the house thus far, and has struck up a friendship with Caitlyn.
“I’ve been preparing my whole life for this. I think, being in the industry that I’m in, you do have to be pretty ruthless and have a good head on your shoulders if you want to be successful,” Ellie told the Gold Coast Bulletin of her impending appearance on the show.
That’s it for now, but be sure to stay tuned – we’ll update you on the behind the scenes gossip as it continues to unfold!
