Brittany Hockley had quite the experience on The Bachelor – not many people can say that they made it all the way to the finale and neither they nor their fellow finalist won the show. However, the former reality star has revealed that she left a little something for the contestants that followed her.
Speaking on her and Laura Byrne’s podcast Life Uncut, Brittany revealed that back in 2018 she left a note to the incoming Bachelorette contestants in the mansion.
“When I was on The Bachelor and I was the last person in the mansion I wrote a note to the next lot of people that I knew were going to come in – in terms of all the boys who were about to come in and film The Bachelorette,” she shared.
“I was in this mansion alone with a minder, who knows where they were, and I was like ‘Oh my god I need to warn people!'”
Brittany’s note was, to put it lightly, not sugarcoated.
“It was warning, it was like ‘Run now, trust no one…Everyone’s out to get you, people will pretend to be your friend and they’re not,’ all these points,” she said, before explaining she hid the note in one of the bunk beds.
“I was on the bottom bunk and I put it under one of the slats and what I did was leave the tiniest bit of the paper out so that if the next guy that was lying on there was looking up, there was no way he wouldn’t see it.
“I thought this was brilliant. I think I called it a cheat sheet on how to get through, what to do and what not to do. I was praying to God that someone would get this just because it would be a cool story.”
Alas, no one found the note but perhaps there’s still a chance one of Jimmy or Brooke’s contestants will uncover it!
Though she didn’t find love with Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins on her first season or with Timm Hanly on Bachelor in Paradise, Brittany is head over heels for her current boyfriend, tennis player Jordan Thompson, who is currently playing overseas.
“It makes all the heartbreak and everything I have been through worth it,” she told WHO in March.
The radiologist explained that due to their six year age gap, she didn’t enter the relationship with high hopes.
“Due to our age gap, I didn’t go in with any expectations that this would get serious – which I think is a good thing. But Jordan is really different from what people think he is. He is very kind and gentle, thoughtful and loving. We laugh nonstop when we’re together.”
Brittany has made several revelations on the podcast, most recently her unusual middle name – Mayo.
“My middle is a family name, one child every generation has to have it, and it’s Mayo. As in yes, the condiment,” she revealed.
“It’s grown on me. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know how I felt in the early days and now I have to call one of my children Mayo.
“I have notified Jordan and he’s got to roll with it but he’s not overly impressed.”
