Since the start of 2025, fans have been speculating about the podcast hosts Alex Cooper and Alix Earle and whether the pair were actually fighting.
The chatter all started when Alix’s podcast, Hot Mess, was dropped by Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network in February, after its launch in 2023.
The split sparked chatter after fans noticed Alix then skipped Unwell’s Super Bowl party, even though she was in New Orleans at the time.
Are Alex Cooper and Alix Earle fighting?
Whilst neither of the podcast hosts has commented on the feud, eager-eyed fans have noticed a few public moments that made them question the pair’s friendship.
On October 14, 2025, Alex Cooper shared a recap video from her Unwell live show with the music Circus by Britney Spears.
Ironically, the song choice was the same that Alix Earle performed during her first dance on Dancing With The Stars.
Earle fans were quick to comment, “i just came here to say that i love alix earle,” wrote one.
“This is exactly how I’d act if I was jealous of someone else’s successes.”
“aw i love alix earle too!! ur obsessed ❤️,” wrote another.
Cooper captioned the video with the phrase, “How much time do you have?”, which was a direct reference to a comment Earle made in August.
In August 2025, during a TikTok video where Earle discussed her astrology app’s suggestion of “revenge,” a fan commented, “Yes, tell us what happened with Alex Cooper thank you.” Earle responded with, “How much time do you have?”
Why did Alex Cooper drop Hot Mess from her company?
Alex Cooper has not confirmed the reasoning as to why she dropped Hot Mess from Unwell, but according to Variety, the company “renounced all rights” to the show.
Earle later shared with her followers that she couldn’t get her podcast set up on a new network, which caused Cooper to respond via Instagram.
“Hi I see ur comments. Alix not being able to podcast has nothing to do with Unwell. Idk why she can’t/what’s going on. Unwell gave her everything back she owns her IP.”
Us Weekly also shared that sources said the tension between the two stemmed from business disagreements.
One insider claimed that “Alix felt taken advantage of,” while another said that Earle’s father had stepped in to oversee her business moves and “did not like what Unwell was doing.”
Is Hot Mess back as a podcast?
After a 4-month break, Hot Mess returned in June 2025, relaunching the podcast as a video-first “vlogcast,” dropping fresh episodes on YouTube and Spotify.
