Bec and Lleyton Hewitt’s love story is fit for the ages and soap opera scripts.
And Bec certainly knows about soap opera scripts – she carved out a place in the heart of viewers as Hayley Smith Lawson on Home and Away from 1998 to 2005.
She’s slowly dipped her toe back into TV waters with an appearance on the 2021 season of Dancing With The Stars and will soon appear in the Australian film 13 Summers.
Bec’s love story with tennis legend Llleyton is already the stuff of Hollywood romance. Here’s everything you need to know about (dare we say it?) Australia’s very own Posh and Becks.

In what can only be described as a story ripped from the soap opera scripts of Summer Bay, Bec Hewitt, 41, and Lleyton Hewitt, 43, first met in passing at the Starlight Cup charity tennis tournament in 1999, six years before they started dating and got married.
According to an interview with Stellar, the two were dating other people at the time – proving that sometimes it’s a case of meeting the right person at the wrong time but true love is something you just can’t ever control.
“We didn’t speak for six years,” Bec Hewitt told Stellar.
“It was only when both of our relationships had broken up [that] he eventually touched base in a text message to tell me something he was working on.”

In 2005, Bec Hewitt and Lleyton Hewitt shocked fans when they announced their engagement just six weeks after dating. Sometimes when you know, you just know!
“It was such a whirlwind, which I think was part of the reason why we ended up with such a lot of attention — because it was after only six weeks that we got engaged,” she told Stellar.

While Cruz is following in his father’s footsteps and competing in junior tennis tournaments, Mia is becoming a bit of a Gen Z style icon.
“Mia’s five-year plan is to move to either New York or Paris and make a name for herself,” a source told Now To Love.
“Despite her young years, Mia’s a very worldly young woman, since Bec and Lleyton have travelled the globe with her by their side for his tennis career.”
Is Bec Hewitt making a return to acting?
Before becoming a full-time mum to three kids, Bec Hewitt was a familiar face on Australian TV screens, winning a Most Popular Actress award at the 2015 Logies for her role as Hayley Smith on Home and Away.
However, apart from a brief stint as the host of Nine travel show Helloworld in 2018 and her appearance on Dancing With The Stars, she has mostly stayed out of the TV spotlight and focused on raising kids.
Now, as the kids get older, it’s believed Bec might be planning a return to an acting career.
“She’s heading for bigger and better things now that her three kids are older,” an insider told Woman’s Day.
“She will see making it in Hollywood as the holy grail. She’s realised she’s still got plenty of gas left in the acting tank.
“She’s been exploring limited opportunities here in Australia and decided, while she loves the idea of home-turf projects, she’s ready to give one last big push to making it in Hollywood.”
It’s thought Bec might even be amenable to breaking into the US market via its enormously popular daytime soaps.
“Knowing Bec’s tenacity, she could even convince some of the longest running shows like Days Of Our Lives to write a new Aussie character into their storyline,” a source said.
“That could give her a little bit of security while exploring the US market.”
