Price Tag singer Jessie J has shared that he has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The 37-year-old pop star took to Instagram to share the news with fans.
“Before [her song] ‘No Secrets’ came out, I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer,” she said in the brief video. “I’m highlighting the word ‘early’. Breast cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early’.
The Bang Bang songstress went on to explain she’s “been in and out of tests throughout this whole period”, and she just wanted to be open with her followers.
Jessie, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, kept her sense of humour, riffing on the name of her recent song ‘No Secrets’, asking if it’s too soon to do a remix called ‘Living my breast life’. She also joked about the breast augmentation she’ll be getting.
“I’m keeping my nipples,” the singer joked, adding “it’s a weird topic, and a weird situation”. “It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job,” she continued.
“I’m going to disappear for a bit after summertime ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive tits and more music.”
In the caption, Jessie wrote: “All jokes aside (You know it’s one of the ways I get through hard times) This last 2 months have been so amazing, and having this go on along side it on the sideline’s has given me the most incredible perspective. BUT… Your girl needs a hug.”
Meanwhile, Jessie’s celebrity friends piled into the comments to share their love. “You’re literally my favourite person and I’m praying for you you’ve got this,” wrote fellow singer and former The Voice coach Rita Ora. “My mother had it and I know the surgery and any treatment on this matter is mentally tough so I’m here for you. X.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage also left a message. “Sending you so much love and healing energy,” she wrote.
Jessie J has a two-year-old son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, whom she shares with basketball player Chanan Safir Colman.
She was previously in a high-profile romance with Channing Tatum between 2018 and 2020.
