Former Married at First Sight bride KC Osborne has revealed her partner Blake Spriggs is in a “stable but critical condition” following a bad fall. The Sydney-based jockey, 32, was injured at Moruya on Friday while rounding the turn in the sixth race.
He has reportedly suffered significant chest and abdominal injuries that will require surgery, as well as fractures to his ribs and clavicle. Asking fans to say a prayer for her partner, KC initially revealed he was in an induced coma, before his older brother Dustin shared a positive update on Saturday afternoon.

“We’ve had some positive news with Blake. He came out of an induced coma this morning. He was responsive, knew who all his loved ones were and is fighting hard,” Dustin tweeted.
“He has a lot of internal bleeding from a punctured lung, which they’re getting on top of. He is still heavily sedated whilst they are working on broken ribs and collarbone. A lot of work to go but we are over the moon about news the last 12 hours as he was in a bad way when he arrived at the hospital.
“We would like to give our deepest thank yous to the Moruya Race Club staff for their amazing efforts with Blake and Beany, the rescue chopper staff and everyone at Canberra hospital.”

KC, who rose to fame on Season seven of MAFS, announced her engagement to Blake in August 2022 after he popped the question during their ‘babymoon’ in Hawaii.
Their engagement came months after the couple announced they were expecting their first child together, and they went on to welcome their baby boy Brooklyn Harmon Spriggs in October 2022.

Talking with our sister site TV WEEK, the proud mum shared the heartbreaking story behind her son’s name.
“I lost my best friend to COVID in 2020 and his name was Harmon. Harmon was my friend from church and one of the last messages he sent me was just about how I’m going to be an incredible mom one day to a beautiful baby boy, it’s like he knew it was crazy,” she said.
The last holiday the best friends travelled to was Brooklyn and six months after Harmon’s message, KC fell pregnant.
