Here's what you need to know.

But before she strapped on the glittery dance shoes in an effort to win the coveted Mirrorball Trophy, it had been a while since we had seen the beloved actress in the public spotlight.

McCune has wowed fans both old and new with her dancing talent, so it’s natural that people are once again keen to know the backstory of this golden girl of the Aussie small screen.

Best known for her multiple Logie Award-winning 1990s role as Maggie Doyle in Blue Heelers, the actress has had a long and stellar career that’s also taken in films, theatre and musicals.

More recent roles have included Sea Patrol (2007-2011), How To Stay Married (2018-2021), and the first season of Rake.

While her career has been hugely successful, her personal life has had its share of ups and downs.

Here’s what you need to know about Lisa McCune’s life now.

Is Lisa McCune married?

Not anymore. Lisa McCune met her former husband Tim Disney on the set of Blue Heelers, where he worked as a production technician. The couple married on February 18, 2000, and went on to have three children together. In 2012, McCune was photographed kissing her South Pacific co-star Teddy Tahu Rhodes.

She later told the Daily Telegraph, “I was getting advice saying, “Make statements” and I just thought, ‘No, I don’t need to, because it’s my life.

“For me personally, I have always been open and happy to talk about my babies when they were born and my marriage, and then I hit a speed bump. I went, ‘All of a sudden, this is not coming out in a positive way’, and I rethought it.”

McCune retreated from the spotlight for a while but in 2020 she confirmed that she and Disney were divorced.

The following year, she gave an interview to The Australian Women’s Weekly stating that she was ”happily single.”

Is Lisa McCune in a relationship?

It’s not known if McCune is in a relationship right now. In 2015, Teddy Tahu Rhodes referenced his relationship with McCune.

“I’m living very much by myself, I can assure you,” he told the Herald Sun. When asked if the pair were still an item, he said, “Look, we’re very good friends”.

McCune told Now To Love in April 2021 that she was enjoying the single life.

“I love my time,” she admitted.

“I pity the poor person that I may end up dating next, because I think, oh my God, they’re going to have to deal with me going, ‘No, I want to do this, and I want to do that.’”

McCune told TV Week that How To Stay Married was the ”closest reflection” of her own life of any role she had played.

The comedy series starred McCune as Em Butler and Peter Helliar as her husband Greg.

After Greg is made redundant from his job, his brother moves in, Em goes back to work, and suddenly the relationship between husband and wife, parents and children, begins to change.

Does Lisa McCune have children?

Yes, Lisa McCune and Tim Disney had three children together during their marriage: sons Archer (born in 2001) and Oli (born 2003) and daughter Remy (born 2005).

”Tim and I are very much dual parenting,” McCune told Australian Women’s Weekly in 2021. ”We are all over them as parents. I think it takes two people a lot of the time.”

McCune even joked that her kids are beginning to find her ”extremely annoying” as they grow older and less dependent.

”They’re going through this thing where they’re like, ‘Don’t do anything for me, Mum.’ My kids find me extremely annoying, which I think is actually my role now – to play the annoying mother,” she told TV Week.

”I figure I’m just going to live with it and play that person – I’m not going to try to lessen it. And if I want their rooms tidy or their washing done, I’m going to tell them to do it. I’m not here to be your friend, but to be your mother.”
