Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger has spoken candidly about her struggles in the world famous girl group and made a baby revelation in a new interview.
Despite the huge success of the Pussycat Dolls in the 2000s and the platform that led the singer to a solo career, she doesn’t have the fondest memories of that time.
“It was very difficult because I was really learning about myself along the way,” she told the Sunday Times.
She recalled a gruelling schedule that didn’t leave much rest and, “struggling and battling your own demons and issues and always being on the road.”
“They never allowed sleep in our schedule,” she added, confessing it led to sleep issues of her own.
“It’s a lot different now. They have rules set in place and, you know, it’s more of a woke community now,” she told the publication.
“But it wasn’t like that when we were doing it. It was just kind of like, ‘Work them to the bone until they’re passed out.’”
Along with the workload, Scherzinger struggled in her own skin being a singer first beside her trained dancer bandmates.
Although, she explained she got to have a say in what she wore, adding she wanted to wear “trousers”.
“I wanted to look like will.i.am and Gwen Stefani. So I got to wear clothes that I felt empowered in and then the girls got to choose what they wanted too,” she explained.
While there were hard times, the ‘Run’ singer is “really proud” of the music they made and the impact they had on the world.
In the same interview, Scherzinger opened up about family, saying she “would love to” have kids with fiancé Thom Evans.
“I’ve never shied away from that. I can’t wait,” she said.
“It’s like the clock is ticking. I want to have a baby but work calls. But I’m going to have to make time because, yes, I cannot wait to have children.”
Scherzinger is now set to make her Broadway debut later this year in Sunset Boulevard, transferring from the West End with the production and she told the publication that she won’t be marrying he retired rugby player fiancé until the year after her Broadway run.
The star has made quite the impression in the theatre world winning an Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical in April.
