Rumours of Tom Holland and Zendaya’s engagement have consistently swirled over the past few years. While it may not be the first time the couple’s rumoured proposal has made headlines, a recent post from Tom’s dad has seemingly confirmed that the couple are *actually* engaged!
On January 10, Tom’s dad, Dominic Holland, appeared to confirm the news of his son’s engagement in a post on his Patreon.
“Tom, as you know by now, is incredibly well prepared. He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter,” he wrote, adding, “Tom had everything planned out. When, where, how, what to say, what to wear.”
Opening up about his concerns about the pressures of the couple’s celebrity status, Dominic added he felt confident they could handle it. “They continually confound me by handling everything with aplomb, … I am completely confident they will make a successful union,” he shared.
Confirmation of Tom and Zendaya’s engagement came just a few days after the Dune star seemingly soft-launched her new fiancée status at the 2025 Golden Globes, with sources close to the couple confirming the news to TMZ and People shortly after her red-carpet appearance.
“Everyone close to them knew an engagement was happening… He’s always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special,” the insider told People, with both sources reporting that Tom popped the question over the holiday period while celebrating in the U.S. with Zendaya’s family.

While the couple has yet to confirm or deny anything, Tom previously hinted that something special was on the cards when discussing their Christmas plans.
“I am gonna be in America this year. I’ll be with my girlfriend’s family, which will be fun. Where we’ll be is a secret,” he told the Dish Podcast in December 2024.
Speaking further on their relationship, Tom added, “where Zendaya and I have been such a strong couple… in the spirit of being able to relate with one another on something that is very, very unique.”
“It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know that she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just that like familiar glance at each other of like, ‘Can’t wait to talk about that later,'” he continued, adding that the couple’s partnership was ” the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

“I have no rizz whatsoever, I have limited rizz,” he laughed. “I need you to fall in love with me, really, for it to work. So, long game. So when did rumours of Tom Holland and Zendaya’s engagement begin? On November 30, 2023, a Twitter account called Pop Hive, which describes itself as “the #1 pop community in the world” shared a photograph of the pair, explaining that they were “reportedly engaged.”
Despite not naming any source or revealing where these reports came from, the original tweet quickly went viral, garnering over half a million likes.
The rumours weren’t entirely left of field, with Us Weekly publishing an article the week before claiming the pair’s relationship was “serious and permanent”.
A source told the outlet that Tom and Zendaya were “planning for a real future together” and “in settling-down mode.”
Eventually, Claire Stoermer, Zendaya’s own mother seemingly set the record straight.
Taking to Instagram, Claire shared a cryptic post about the definition of “clickbait.”
“Clickbait typically refers to the practice of writing sensationalised or misleading headlines in order to attract clicks on a piece of content,” the quote read. “It often relies on exaggerating claims or leaving out key information in order to encourage traffic.”
Fans quickly concluded that the message was in direct response to the frenzied marriage-related rumours, and we can’t help but agree.
As the buzz surrounding their romance slowly left headlines, the couple have kept any comments about their relationship brief.
