And their chemistry would never have turned into a huge diamond engagement ring.

Yes! The pair are very much still together, with a wedding on the horizon (basically our own royal wedding, not gonna lie).
Rumours of the 29-year-olds have consistently swirled over the past few years. While it may not be the first time the couple’s rumoured proposal has made headlines, a recent post from Tom’s dad has seemingly confirmed that the couple are *actually* engaged!
Opening up about their relationship in a rare interview, Zendaya told The Mirror that Tom is her favourite person to worth with.
“Honestly, I know people might think it’s awkward, he is my favourite person to work with. On set he has this huge calming presence that not only puts me at ease but also everybody he works with. I might be a little biased but he is not only my favourite person, he is my favourite person to work with,” she explained.
Showing balance is key to their successful pairing, she added: “Neither of us want to hide and not live our lives and do normal things like go out for dinner, but at the same time we want to protect our privacy. You have to accept that to a degree some aspects of your privacy are going to be out of your control. But the parts that are in our control, we fiercely protect.”
Are Zendaya and Tom Holland engaged?
Confirmation of Tom and Zendaya’s engagement came just a few days after the Dune star seemingly soft-launched her new fiancée status at the 2025 Golden Globes, with sources close to the couple confirming the news to TMZ and People shortly after her red-carpet appearance.
Not only was the rumour mill stirring, but Zendaya wore a reported 5.02-carat cushion-cut diamond engagement ring.
While neither of the Spidey stars have commented on the engagement, Tom’s dad, Dominic Holland, has spoken on the exciting news in a post on his Patreon.
On January 10, Dominic seemingly confirmed the news of their engagement.
“Tom, as you know by now, is incredibly well prepared. He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter,” he wrote, adding, “Tom had everything planned out. When, where, how, what to say, what to wear.”
Opening up about his concerns about the pressures of the couple’s celebrity status, Dominic added that he felt confident they could handle it. “They continually confound me by handling everything with aplomb, … I am completely confident they will make a successful union,” he shared.
Have Tom and Zendaya confirmed they are engaged?
While the couple has yet to confirm or deny anything, Tom previously hinted that something special was on the cards when discussing their Christmas plans.
“I am gonna be in America this year. I’ll be with my girlfriend’s family, which will be fun. Where we’ll be is a secret,” he told the Dish Podcast in December 2024.
Speaking further on their relationship, Tom added, “where Zendaya and I have been such a strong couple… in the spirit of being able to relate with one another on something that is very, very unique.”
“It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know that she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just that like familiar glance at each other of like, ‘Can’t wait to talk about that later,'” he continued, adding that the couple’s partnership was ” the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Their relationship was confirmed in July 2021, when paparazzi took photos of the pair kissing.
However, they met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, with dating rumours circulating from the get-go.
What have Zendaya and Tom Holland said about each other?
While the pair tend to keep any direct comments on their romance out of the public eye, during the promotional tour for Dune: Part 2, Zendaya praised Tom for his unmatched ‘rizz’ skills.
“I think someone who has beautiful charisma, not on the Dune cast, but I know personally, works for me, is Mr Tom Holland,” she told Buzzfeed, adding, “I’m more shy and kind of quiet, so it takes a little more to pull me out of my shell, but he’s great at just talking to people and getting to know people… He’s got that natural gift.”
The latest quotes come just over a year after Zendaya made a rare few comments about her relationship in an interview with Elle in August 2023. In it she explained why she and Tom prefer to keep their relationship private. “Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public,” she said. “I can’t not be a person and live my life and love the person I love.”
“But also, I do have control over what I choose to share. It’s about protecting the peace and letting things be your own but also not being afraid to exist. You can’t hide. That’s not fun, either. I am navigating it more than ever now.”
Tom, on his press rounds for The Crowded Room in June 2023, also gave fans a sweet update on his relationship with Zendaya.
Just under a year before his girlfriend hyped his ‘rizz’ (aka charisma) skills, the Spider-Man star also assessed his charm in an interview with Buzzfeed.
“I have no rizz whatsoever, I have limited rizz,” he laughed. “I need you to fall in love with me, really, for it to work. So, long game. Probably making a movie with each other—it definitely helps when the characters are falling in love with one another, you can sort of blur the lines a little bit. That’s kind of where my rizz is at. And, you know, I’m locked up. I’m happy and in love so I’ve got no need for rizz.”
In a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tom also shared why the couple keeps their relationship mainly out of the public eye.
“Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible,” he explained. “We don’t think that we owe it to anyone; it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers.”
In November 2024, Tom shared a rare snap of the couple to his socials while on a date night at Boston’s Foxhole Bar. Celebrating the launch of his non-alcoholic beer brand Bero, Tom posted a set of stories to Instagram alongside Zendaya, sprinkling a handful of heart-eye emojis.
In January 2025, Tom also revealed why he rarely opted to walk the red carpet with Zendaya at her movie premieres.
“It’s because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” he told Men’s Health.
