They may be movie stars, but the Hemsworth brothers love nothing more than a good prank.
In honour of Chris’ 38th birthday on Wednesday, youngest brother Liam, 31, shared a post on Instagram.
“Happy birthday @chrishemsworth,” the Hunger Games actor simply captioned it.
Sounds pretty standard, right? Well, it would be but the photo actually features Liam and the eldest Hemsworth brother, Luke, 40, together rather than the birthday boy.
Not only that, but Luke did the same thing and shared a photo of himself and Liam captioning it: “Happy birthday brother @chrishemsworth !! Love you mate will remember this trip the Kimberly region for ever. So many memories together 😂”
Whilst some fans were confused, others were quick to get in on the joke.
“Epic pic, Chris has never looked better ;),” one commented on Luke’s post.
“Can’t wait for Liam’s birthday now 🎂 😂,” laughed another.
Throughout their childhood, Luke, Chris and Liam had their fair share of brotherly fights but some were more intense than others.
“Me and my older brother never fought but me and Chris used to fight non-stop,” Liam confessed on Conan O’Brien’s talk show in 2012, adding that he threw a knife at his brother’s head when he was around eight-years-old.
“The handle hit him in the head, it was just like a warning!” he laughed.

These days, the pranks are still going on but the Hemsworths have grown up a fair bit.
Whilst Luke has been married to wife Samantha since 2007 with whom he shares children Harper, Alexandre, Ella and Holly, Chris and wife Elsa Pataky share three kids – daughter India and twin boys Sasha and Tristan.
Liam, meanwhile, is currently dating model Gabriella Brooks whom he went public with shortly after his divorce from Miley Cyrus.
