Shrinking has quickly become one of TV’s most heartfelt and honest explorations of grief, growth and messy human connection. And, as the Apple TV+ series heads into its third season, airing on January 28, actor Christa Miller says both the show and its cast relationships keep getting better.

Miller, who plays the sharp-tongued but deeply vulnerable Liz, admitted to WHO she loves bringing her character to life, but if she could choose to step into another role, she knows exactly who she’d pick.

When asked which other character she’d like to play on the show, Christa picked Dr. Paul Rhoades (aka. Harrison’s character).

“Oh, I could totally play Harrison’s part, he’s based on my psychiatrist. I could totally bring it!” she told WHO. “I could be formidable, and I know all this stuff already. I could totally do it.

“He’d be so mad if he heard me say that!” Miller told WHO.

It’s a bold admission, and her comment speaks volumes about the dynamic between Liz and Paul in the show: two people who operate very differently.

While Paul is controlled, guarded and blunt, Liz is impulsive, messy and deeply expressive- a contrast that has become increasingly compelling as the series heads into its third season.

What did Christa say about the Shrinking cast?

Speaking to WHO, Miller said the closeness viewers see on screen is reflected behind the scenes, with the cast forming genuine bonds as the show has evolved.

“We have such a tight set… It’s a very close group. The relationships have organically grown with the show, which is a lovely thing. It’s nice to feel like you’ve made new friends that will be in your life forever.”

That sense of trust has allowed characters like Liz to grow in unexpected ways – shifting from comic relief to emotional cornerstone.

What did Christa say about Jason Segel?

When it comes to seeking advice, Miller says one co-star stands out.

“They’ve all given me good advice, but I would have to say Jason Segel because he and I have become very close.

“We get it and have the same kind of outlook on things. So I would have to say, Jason, I would value and respect his advice.”
