Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon confirmed their relationship publicly in the lead-up to the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Describing their relationship as a “slow burn” in an interview with 7News, their friendship forged in the pool transitioned to a romantic connection.
This shared passion for swimming seems to have been a strong foundation for their relationship. Since their 2022 relationship debut, the pair have shared a multitude of cute moments together, cementing their strong coupledom.
Cody and Emma’s parents can even testament to this. As reported by 7News, Cody’s mum Angie said, “I’ve never seen him so happy. Like this is the most authentically happy I’ve ever seen him in my life.”
Emma’s mum and dad shared similar sentiments; “[It’s] probably the happiest I’ve seen her, I’m going to say, over the last number of years.”
Marking a significant step in their relationship, Cody and Emma purchased a home together on the Gold Coast, valued at $1.8 million, in 2023. The coastal home features five bedrooms, a large entertainment area, and, naturally, a swimming pool.
Cody Simpson and Miley Cyrus split
Before meeting Emma, Cody Simpson was in a known public relationship with Miley Cyrus, which spanned from October 2019 to August 2020.
Parting ways amicably, Miley revealed in a 2022 interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, “It was kind of a mutual decision between us, knowing that we were sort of going in different directions in our life.”
Cody made his career pivot, which required him to relocate back to Australia to pursue swimming professionally and aim for the Olympics. At the same time, Miley Cyrus was preparing to release her album Plastic Hearts.
