It’s no secret Channel Nine’s Today show ratings have plummeted since its hyped relaunch.
On Monday, only 197,000 viewers across the five metropolitan capitals tuned in to watch the all-female cast. Reports later surfaced that there was a 35 per cent gap between Nine’s show and Seven’s rival breakfast program Sunrise.
Described by News Corp as Today’s lowest ratings in 10 years, Deb Knight has now addressed the matter, admitting she has no time for chatter about the shakeup.
“That is for others to work at and worry about,” she told The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential. “My job is turning up and being me.”
“I try to limit the chatter and the white noise has on me,” she continued. “You’ve got to focus on the job at hand.
The news anchor, who replaced Karl Stefanovic after being axed last month, said the disappointing ratings don’t scare her.
“I am trying to focus on getting this right and enjoy the ride as much as I can rather than be intimidated by it,” she said.
“Lost me, just switched off, trying Channel 10. Not happy,” one user commented.
“Yeah… I’ve already switched off…. wish you well….. you’re gunna need it.”
