According to senior lecturer at Deakin University, Dr Patrick Stokes, cheating scandals, happily ever afters and an abundance of relationship dilemmas are exactly what the doctor ordered!

Dr Stokes told the ABC this week, “There are probably better things to do with your time, but I think it’s mostly fairly harmless, to be honest.”

He added, “Any entertainment you engage with has a moral dimension. [For example] do you want to support the people involved?”

So yelling at the TV and poking our noses into other peoples’ business is a good thing. We’ll take it!

Doctor Stokes reassured us, “everyone needs entertainment and there is something positive about sitting down and watching something really mindless.”
