Donald followed in his father Fred Trump’s footsteps and took over the family business in the ‘70s, renamed it The Trump Organization, and became a multi-million-dollar real estate mogul within a decade.
As a result of this success, Trump also became an influential media personality. He wrote several books, including Trump: The Art of the Deal, which hit the top of the best seller list. He also produced and hosted famous reality show The Apprentice.
In 2000, Trump attempted to run for president but dropped out after dismal numbers at the polls. In 2015, he announced his bid for the presidency and won, to the world’s surprise, against Democratic favourite Hillary Clinton.
Since he was inaugurated, Trump has come under fire for his populism, false statements to the press, divisive policies, and his decision to communicate important political decisions or announcements via Twitter.

His first wife was Czech model Ivana Marie Trump, with whom he has three children. His second wife was actress Marla Maples who he was married to for six years. She and Trump have one daughter together. Trump is currently married to Melania Knauss Trump, a Slovenian former model and mother of his youngest son.
Despite everything, the Trumps remain a blended family. Donald’s children are regularly seen together at his rallies or events, supporting their dad.

Donald Trump Jr is President Trump’s eldest son. Like his father and grandfather before him, he is a businessman. He is currently the executive vice president of the Trump Organization. He was married to Vanessa Trump from 2005 until their divorce in 2018.
Trump Jr campaigned very heavily for his father during the 2016 elections. He went as far as to meet with a Russian lawyer in what is now called ‘the Trump Tower meeting’ with the aim of gathering damaging information about Trump’s political opponent Hillary Clinton.
Trump Jr is currently under two investigations: one for his role in the inauguration, another for a hush money scandal involving Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen. He also came under fire for a 2016 interview with known white supremacist James Edwards.

A lot of people have criticised Ivanka’s involvement in her father’s administration, especially due to her inexperience in politics. Since Trump assumed the presidency in 2016, Ivanka has attended dozens of official events. In 2019, a video of Ivanka awkwardly inserting herself into conversation with global leaders went viral.
This was not the first controversy Ivanka was involved in. A year before, Ivanka sent ‘official government business’ through her personal email – a violation of federal rules, and the exact same violation the Trump administration leveraged against Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton during the 2016 elections.

The youngest of Donald and Ivana’s children, Eric Trump is (yet again) a businessman. Eric is also under investigation for his role in Trump’s inauguration.
