Elsa and Chris share three children – daughter, India Rose, born in May 2012, and twin sons, Tristan and Sasha, born in March 2014.
In fact, it was because of them and their interactions with the paparazzi that led the family to relocate from Hollywood to Byron Bay.
“My daughter started to get scared of photos, actually,” Elsa told Vogue Australia. “So we realised this is not a way to live, because you just become enclosed in a house. I love nature and I love to be outside, and I wanted my kids to have that freedom, so we decided to leave.”

The Fast and the Furious star added that she wanted her kids to grow up surrounded by nature.
“But that step did take me away from one of my big passions in life: acting, and it was a big change. But I changed my life to be a mum, which I think is just the most amazing thing in the world.
“I wanted to pick my kids up, I wanted to take them to school, I wanted to be part of the school and be involved in what they do.”
Thor star Chris has also mused about what his career would be like if he hadn’t met his Spanish actress wife and had kids.
“There’s times when I’ve thought, ‘Wow, because having kids is more important to me, some of my roles have suffered.’ There’s definitely a couple of films I could’ve put way more energy into but I was like, ‘No, I’d rather be with my kids,'” Chris revealed to GQ in May last year.
“When I think about my kids, I don’t want them to miss that joy. Elsa and I talk a lot about how we instil that same appreciation and respect for things. I don’t want them to feel like they’re privileged in any way. The fact that we have money and their parents are famous, that somehow they’re special, that scares me because we grew up with no money.”
