On Tuesday morning, former Miss Universe Australia Erin, 38, reflected on her short but sweet time on the reality show.
“(Literally) bent over backwards for this show,” she captioned a still of herself and partner Julian Caillon performing their Viennese waltz.
“I wanted to put myself out there and try to get ‘comfortable being uncomfortable’ like I did with SAS Australia, and I did that! Dancing has always terrified me but at least this time I managed to have a few fleeting moments of fun, too. Ok, quite a bit of fun!
“I’ll never stop pushing myself beyond what’s comfortable; I’ll continue to wear my heart on my sleeve even though it might get broken (along with my ribs) Thank you @julian_caillon for helping me find this part of me! Wishing my indescribably lovely, talented, kind, hilarious and most importantly, supportive castmates all the best with your remaining dances! Am beyond grateful to have reunited with/met you.”
Erin’s post was flooded with kind messages from fans including her DWTS co-stars.
“You showed everyone the grit and determination you’ve always had. Style and class all the way Erin,” TV presenter Tom Williams remarked.
“You’re such an inspiration Ez!! You worked so incredibly hard to put it all out there and you absolutely smashed it! I was so proud of ya watching it live and last night I felt that same way again. Keep inspiring ya legend!” Home and Away‘s Lincoln Lewis wrote.
Meanwhile Renee Bargh penned: “You pushed yourself beyond and danced your butt off out there with elegance and class. So proud of you x.”
On Monday, Erin revealed to her fans that the extreme injuries she sustained whilst filming DWTS and even revealed that it was tougher than her time on military show SAS Australia.
“Recovery mode… Who knew Dancing With The Stars All Stars would be more brutal than SAS Australia?” she penned.
“Honestly the level of respect and awe I have for professional dancers is through the roof – they are absolute machines! I was a broken mess after only a couple of months of training (4-6hrs/day, 5 days/week); these guys and gals do this 6+ hrs a day for YEARS.”
Erin then explained that she suffered from a fractured ninth rib and a badly bruised tenth rib and that they’re partially dislocated.
Ouch!
Erin married rapper Example, whose real name is Elliot Gleave, in 2013 and welcomed their first child, Evander Maxwell in 2014, and second son Ennio Stanley in 2017.
The couple were introduced in 2011 when the Canberra-born beauty interviewed the musician while working as a presenter for MTV.
Not long after that, Erin relocated to Example’s hometown of London, where they lived for six years.
Speaking with The Sun, Example described Erin as his “saviour,” and detailed how she helped him turn around from a party boy.
“Erin saved me from an early death. I was partying too much back in the day,” he told the publication.
“You’re burning the candle at both ends, doing 120 festivals a year, 100 flights a year and you’re partying four or five nights a week.
“I was lying to my ex and cheating on her. I wasn’t close to my mum or dad or my sister any more, so Erin coming into my life helped me mend all those things.”
